ITANAGAR, Feb 25: The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) has written to Chief Secretary urging him to give detail information about steps taken by state government to deal with crisis situation arising out of Tarasso incident.
Citing example of attack on Arunachal registered vehicles at Borgang and Bihali area, ANYA said there is urgent need to increase helicopter service between Itanagar and Guwahati to allow free movement.
“It has been brought to our knowledge that state government has already requisitioned helicopters to ferry Arunachalee passengers from various location of Assam more specially from Guwahati.
However, it is regrettable that no helicopter service exclusively meant for ferrying passengers has been made available yet. We would therefore like to know the exact status of helicopter service and what the state government is doing to make it available immediately,” ANYA stated in a release.
ANYA also called on state government to take note of sufferings of Arunachalee citizen and ensure security of those citizens traveling through Assam.

ITANAGAR, Feb 25: In a major breakthrough, Yazali police has arrested one of the three accused in the Yachuli branch Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank robbery case from Itanagar on February 15 last.
Three miscreants had looted cash amount of Rs 8,28,020 at gun point along with five mobile handsets from Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank, Yachuli on January 7 last. A case (No 01/2014 U/S 392/34 IPC r/w Sec 27 Arts Act) had been registered in this connection and investigation launched.
Acting on a tip off, a team of Yazali police led by SI I Ete and with the help of SI T M Nekam of Itanagar police arrested the accused Giogi John, 22, under Sangram PS from Ganga, Itanagar.

four persons arrested in connection with the death of a 19-
After expiry of their earlier remand, accused Farman, Sunder Singh, Pawan Parmania and Sunny Uppal were produced before Metropolitan Magistrate Bhawna Kalia, who sent them back to Tihar Jail till March 11 after Delhi Police did not seek their custodial interrogation.
"The accused be produced from JC (judicial custody) before the court concerned on March 11," the court said.
The accused were apprehended after relatives of deceased Nido Tania, a student in a private university, alleged that he had an altercation with some shopkeepers at Lajpat Nagar market here on January 29 after they made fun of his hairstyle, following which they allegedly thrashed him. He was brought dead to AIIMS the next day.
The death of Tania, son of a Congress MLA, evoked angry reactions from people of the northeast living in the national capital who alleged police had failed to protect him.
Police had booked all the four accused under section 302 (murder) of IPC after the postmortem report revealed that Nido died due to injuries to his head and face caused by a blunt object.
Initially, police had on February 3 arrested three of the accused under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
On February 10, police arrested Sunny and slapped murder charge on all the four accused. Two minors who also allegedly assaulted Nido are facing an inquiry before the Juvenile Justice Board here. PTI

TAWANG, Feb 25: The high level Central committee set up by Central Government to examine the proposal of the Arunachal Pradesh Govt for creation of two Autonomous District Councils namely Mon Autonomous Council for West Kameng and Tawang Districts and Patkai Autonomous Councils for Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts under the sixth schedule of the Constitution of India, arrived here today.
The team headed by committee chairman and Joint Secy (NE) under Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Shambhu Singh held a meeting with the representatives of the MARDC at the DC Conference hall. SSA teachers waiting for regularization of job
Dear Editor,
Thousands of SSA teachers are enduring difficulties for the sake of Arunachal’s future. But it seems state government does not recognize problem faced by SSA teacher family. They are not paying heed to genuine demand for job regularization of SSA teachers. Such policy of state government undermines service of these teachers in education department.
Therefore, on behalf of (AASSATA) Kurung Kumay Unit District, I would like to urge
education minister for early fulfillment of One-
Lastly, but not the least, I would like to appeal to CEC of AASSATA to enquire with state government regarding cause for irregular disbursement of monthly salary. They should also try to find out whether state government is embezzling salary of hard working SSA teachers?

Release salary at the earliest
Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily, I would like to draw kind attention towards miseries and sorrows of SSA teachers to the state government. Everyone knows that SSA Teachers are not being paid salaries since past five months. We are ready to immolate ourselves if there is further delay in disbursement of salary on the part of concern authority.
Though in the newspaper state government announced about releasing of10% matching share but in reality it is yet to happen. Therefore kindly release our salary and act before anyone dies of hunger and anger.

Be aware of fake institutes
Dear Editor,
It is painful for me to share that there are some private colleges at Guwahati, which assures many innocent student hailing from our states of providing 1 (one) years B. Ed course and certificate from Guwahati University at the time of admission. But their motive is only to earn money by cheating innocent student.
First of all, they show all documents as up-
Thirdly, when student ask for refunding or threaten them to take matter to court, they starts warning of dire consequences. Such incident happened with some of my relatives who took admission for B.Ed. 3 years back at Guwahati in Zoo Road Tinali. Now the same institution’s office has been shifted to unknown location, mobile/phone number has also been closed and changed.
The poor students, who could not get admission at RGU, went to Guwahati hoping that they will complete their B.Ed. course, but hope became hopeless. Hence, I request my brothers and sisters of Arunachal to be careful while taking admission in any private college, especially at Guwahati, Assam. I also request RGU authorities to increase intake seat capacities for B.Ed course to cater to the needs Arunachalee students.

A Step Towards Pragmatism
Dear Editor,
Supreme Court’s verdict of 5th July 2013 on ‘Freebies’ got a thrust when the Election commission(E.C) came up with the direction to all political parties to make attainable and practical promises in the election manifestoes, which does not affect the Directive Principles of State Policy and other Constitutional provisions.
This will help lower exorbitant promises made by our political leaders during election time. Since more than 68% of our population lives in rural areas and with whopping 21.9% illiteracy rate, the ground is still fertile for political leaders to play with the basic needs game during election period that is, by offering voters superfluous promises.
With general election months away, public awareness-
Nevertheless, it’s always better ‘to have, then none’. With the coming up of these verdicts and directions, hope the well established democratic institution of our country will stand tall and sturdy.

NLCT’s claim surprises everyone
National Liberation Council of Taniland (NLCT) surprised everyone by claiming responsibility for boundary clash at Tarasso which led to death of 15 people. All these days Assam based groups have been alleging that Arunachalee villagers from nearby Tarasso area played role in the incident. Such allegations have been strongly rebuked by both government of Arunachal and local villagers. The role of Borgang based CPI (ML) leader Vivek Das is also under scanner.
